Alternative Paint Stripper Formulations
I want to find a replacement of methylene chloride- based paint strippers. Please guide us about good alternative paint stripper formulations.
Powder Stripping
We have an aluminum casting from which we need to remove powder coat. We have investigated sanding and chemical, but the heat process may have a very negative impact on the part shape. What are your thoughts?
Pretreatment Problems on Galvanneal Steel
What we are seeing is craters in random places in the surface of the painted parts.
Bright-Dipping Brass
Our company has to make a major decision because we are going to try and replace the nitric acid (20%) bright dip line that we have used to clean brass fittings for the last 40 years.
Trailer Prep
What advice could you give me on steel prior to primer and painting of our trailers. I think ideally I would like to “treat” the steel as it arrives from the supplier, before we work it.
Plating Strip
I have a part made from Monel that was plated with nickel strike and silver plated. I need to strip the plating from the outer diameter and leave the inner diameter plated without attacking the base metal. Any suggestions?
Cleaning Expanded Stainless
We’re looking to install an in-line (or off-line) cleaning system that would degrease flat expanded metal sheet made out of 0.015-inch-thick SS T409 material.

Passivation (Times Four!)
1) I would love to be able to get my hands on a book that can teach me a great deal more on the passivation process. Is there such a book out there? 2) We rinse parts in a closed-loop bath that is not controlled for pH or any other content parameters. Under what conditions do you need to take the acid bath step? 3) I am setting up passivation and chem film lines in a shop and am wondering what are some good resources for getting started? 4) Are there biocompatibility issues with passivating stainless steel?
Stripping Chrome-Plated Parts
We have etching, erosion and severe mass loss and are losing the functional dimensions. Is this happening because the nickel is too low and the chlorine is now too harsh against the chrome and other component into the 2101? What would you recommend to strip the chrome without any effect on the duplex stainless surface?
