HMG Paints, a U.K.-based developer of coatings for myriad industries, says its Acrythane 4G commercial vehicle topcoat is the painter’s choice for both OEM and refinish work. Alongside its customers, HMG’s R&D team have developed a new thinner that is said to speed up the application process without compromising on finish quality.
Launched in 2019, Acrythane 4G is a high solids acrylic polyurethane coating developed to meet the requirements of the commercial vehicle market. HMG says that with its balance of early hardness, fast cure and long pot life, Acrythane 4G is ideal for OEMs, repairers and builders.
Acrythane 4G is available in a number of colors, including those in the new HMG ColorBase Color Box, which presents over 2400 color chips displayed in chromatic order within 20 fan decks. The ColorBase Color Box is said to be a multi-function tool; not only does each color have a chromatic code that identifies its position in the color sequence, but it also corresponds to a color existing on the market for reference.
Paul Rafferty of Rafferty Coachworks comments, “Acrythane 4G provides us easy application, fast drying and a superior finish. I can just put it on and walk away. The depth of image on jobs is fantastic and customers are now specifying it for their whole fleet.”
Initially designed for the commercial vehicle market, Acrythane 4G is now being used in a variety of other industries by users looking for a volatile organic compound- (VOC) and REACH-compliant topcoat that provides outstanding gloss, final appearance and durability. In addition, due to its advanced properties and thinner options, Acrythane 4G can be used in cold and warm weather conditions, which HMG says enables users to produce outstanding finishes year round.
