In the interview, Elliott discussed the effect of the pandemic-era economy on manufacturing and how small and medium-sized manufacturers are preparing for a potential recession.
Elliott explained that Seacole and other manufacturers are not anxious about weathering a recession after what they learned while surviving the Great Recession in 2009. “We nurtured our relationships . . . looked for ways to find new customers,” recalls Elliott. In regard to a potential recession in 2023, he says, “I’m not panicked. . . . I think the economy’s going to slow down, and that’s going to help correct an overheated market.”
