Lincotek Acquires Danco Medical, Expands Into U.S.

Global contract manufacturer Lincotek (Rubbiano, Italy) has closed an acquisition of a majority stake in Danco Medical from Danco Anodizing (Warsaw, Ind.). The scope of the transaction comprises all the service activities focused on metal surface finishing for the medical market and includes the ISO-13485 certified facility in Warsaw, Indiana.
Established in 1971, Danco Medical offers complete surface preparation and finishing solutions and a wide range of product identification methods to medical orthopedic device companies. It is also said to be a leader in aluminum and titanium anodizing and offers services comprising ChemFilm, electropolishing, passivation processes and low friction chrome coating.
Lincotek Medical is a leader in fully-integrated supply chain solutions, including device engineering, casting, forging, additive manufacturing, precision machining, plasma spray, calcium phosphate and physical vapor deposition coatings, electrochemical treatments and final packaging.
The move will expand Lincotek’s capabilities in the medical field, reportedly increasing the company’s manufacturing footprint by one plant (around 35,000 sq. ft and 150 employees).
The partnership between Lincotek Medical and Danco Medical is expected to address the needs of orthopedic customers around technical depth and process mastery. The agreement will increase Lincotek’s presence in the U.S.
Danco will reportedly remain an independent unit inside the Lincotek Medical structure, and the former owners and the management will run the company as before.
