Peintures Prolux Inc. of the Protech Group has acquired Evotech. Evotech is a liquid coatings manufacturer with a production factory based in Ontario, Canada. The company also has two service centers in Canada, one in Quebec and the other in Ontario. All manufacturing equipment and offices will continue to operate under the Protech Group brand.

“We look forward to welcoming the talented employees at Evotech to the Protech Group family upon the close of the transaction,” says David Ades, president, Protech Group. “This acquisition brings us additional strengths in waterborne and solvent liquid coatings technology, and formulations, new relationships with multinational and local customers, and additional presence with strategically-located manufacturing and service sites.”

Since 1965, Evotech formulations (marketed under the Acrythane brand) have been refined for performance in the windows and doors industry, as well as commercial vehicles and heavy equipment industries.

Originally founded in 1976 as a manufacturer focused on thermoset powder coatings, the Protech Group has expanded its coating solutions through various technologies, including thermoplastics and specialty materials. The company strives to be an all-encompassing coatings provider to meet the most stringent customer and industry requirements.

Acquisitions are a continuing part of growth and success within the Protech Group. Over the past two years, the Protech Group has acquired a total of six businesses, including the acquisition of Evotech. The other businesses include the thermoset powder coatings businesses of ACG Industries and Lynx Thermoset Coating Ltd., the specialty materials business Dyvex Industries, as well as the liquid paints businesses of Excalibur Paints & Coatings Ltd. and Winslow Browning Inc.
