Grieve’s No. 859 is a 550°F (288°C) shelf oven currently used for drying powdered resin in trays at a customer’s facility. Workspace dimensions are 44" × 30" × 60", and 12 kW are installed in Nichrome wire heating elements, while a 1,000-cfm, 1-hp recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload.

The oven has 4" insulated walls, Type 430 stainless steel interior and four independent doors for access to the workspace, each opening 20-1/2" × 28-1/2". Other features include 32 trays measuring 19" × 29" × 2-1/2", a weekly timer to start and stop the oven, and a digital timer for each compartment with a button and pilot light to indicate end of cycle. Controls include a digital indicating temperature controller, manual-reset excess-temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating-blower airflow-safety switch and a 10"-diameter circular chart recorder.
