Dürr’s EcoProFleet of automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) is designed specifically for paint shops as a solution for more intelligent production. Instead of transporting bodies using conveyor technology, vehicles can be moved independently and in parallel formation between work decks — as in spot repair, polishing or intermediate storage. The company says that downtimes caused by sudden malfunctions are reduced because AGVs can be redirected to a different workstation or a different painting booth.
The platform is also said to be paint and solvent resistant, and only 225 mm high, which enables it to go under typical workstations and conveyor systems in order to drive a car body into a workstation, hand over or pick up bodies.
